The 2nd Annual “Autos & Oysters” Car Show on Saturday hosted by Apalachicola Main Street will display a beautiful selection of vehicles this year, from vintage to late model, and everything in between. Dozens of cars are pre-registered for the event. In particular, look for the 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster (pictured below), 1947 MG, 1960 Austin Healey, a great array of classic American muscle cars, and a strong showing of Porsches of every variety. With the forecast predicting pleasant sunny weather, a strong turnout is expected.
The show is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Water Street in downtown Apalachicola, immediately followed by the awards ceremony. Plaques will be awarded for the Top 50, Sponsor’s Choice, Greatest Club Participation, Greatest Distance Traveled and Best of Show. The head judge will be J.C. O’Steen of Tallahassee. O’Steen has judged several major national and international events and owns an impressive collection of vintage cars and motorcycles.
Later Saturday evening, don your favorite 50s attire or come as you are to the City Docks at Riverfront Park for a Sock Hop from 7 p.m. – until. Local refreshments will be available. Admission is free for both events.
