Ghost Walk
October 28, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$5Hauntings will abound at Apalachicola’s Chestnut Street Cemetery on Saturday, October 28 when local history enthusiasts don the garb and take on the persona of the cemetery’s more notable inhabitants to tell their tale of life in Apalachicola more than 100 years ago. The Ghostwalk will be held 6:30-8:30 pm. at the Chestnut Street Cemetery on Hwy 98 between 6th and 8th Streets in Apalachicola.
This fall’s Ghost Walk characters include steamboat captains pioneering steam navigation on the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint river system; others were titans of the lumber industry. They include a founding member of the Philaco Club, responsible for the founding of the town library. Characters comprise immigrants from Northern states as well as immigrants from other countries, who came to Apalachicola to seek fortune in this small “frontier” town.
Join us, starting at 6:30PM, Saturday October 28, at the Chestnut Street Cemetery, Ave E (Hwy 98) between 6th and 8th Streets. Tickets are $5/adult. AAHS members have free admission. Online registration-https://aahs.wildapricot.org/event-2688075
